18th Century Stays June 18th-20th

$225.00

Class times:

June 18th - 20th 1-4 pm

In this class we will make a pair of 18th century stays. The pattern we will be using comes from Red Threaded, a small pattern making company that specializes in corsetry. The garment can be worn as the structure under historical dresses from the rococo period, or they can be easily shortened to make a lovely and very interesting top. It can be worn to Renaissance Faires, reenactments, or any occasion you wish!

This class will be taught by Empowered Threads Studios first guest teacher! Julia Breckenridge is an incredibly gifted college student from Mont Vernon, New Hampshire. She has been sewing since she was 10 years old, and has a passion for all historical dresses. She has made costumes from the 1750-1950’s. Julia has also studied art history at Keble College at Oxford University, and now and works in the costume shop at Middlebury College where she is in her final year. She is very excited to share her passion for sewing and historical costume.

Please note:
